Double Hung Windows

What are double hung windows?

The most popular window style in St. Louis. The top and bottom sashes raise and lower for maximum airflow and both sashes tilt in for easy cleaning. All of our double hung windows are custom made for your opening size.

The Double Hung Window is the standard in the St. Louis/St. Charles window market. But, don’t be fooled, there is a wide range of quality. A window is not just a window. Whether you are looking for a vinyl wood or fiberglass window, Floyd has the knowledge to walk you through the process.
What are the drawbacks of a Double Hung?
The only big disadvantage is the meeting rail in the middle of the window that can obstruct your view; however, a great option is to have a Cottage Style Double Hung, which is a 60/40 split. So, the top sash is larger than the bottom sash. Or you can also order an Oriel Window, which is a 40/60 split with the bottom sash being larger.
